Marco Casentini

Marco Casentini was born in 1961 in La Spezia, Italy.

A partire dal 1996 inizia a viaggiare negli Stati Uniti dapprima attraverso l’ovest e in seguito negli stati centrali e dell’est.

Marco lives between Milan, where teaches painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and Los Angeles, California.

…Marco Casentini’s paintings are elegant, minimal studies of geometric abstraction, often inspired by an experience tied to landscape or urban scenes. His work leaves the viewer with an impression or emotion, rather than a concrete image of a scene. He uses the juxtaposition of color, light, and geometry to convey that which he finds in his everyday life...

Alessi d'après -
Alberto Alessi

Art is the universe in which Alessi research has developed. An investigation inaugurated at the beginning of the 70s with the Alessi d'après, a hyperbolically experimental project that gave life to a collection of sculptures, produced in non-limited series, of which that of Salvador Dalí was the only one don't see the light. After about three years, and the creation of the first five multiples, the project was suspended: it had not met with public interest, furthermore, its production complexity had monopolized the mechanical workshop, delaying the creation of the objects then in the catalogue.

MULTIPLE

Design: Salvador Dalí

Multiple in 925 silver, 24 carat gilded brass and olive wood. Limited series of 99 numbered pieces and 3 author's proofs.

Carlo Bava, Alessi Zucchi &
Cristina Pasquali

Ekium is an "imaginary collective" born in 2020, as an evolution of the research path started in 2018 by Alessia, Carlo and Maria Cristina with the publication of the first edition of Muro, I'll eat you! The name of the collective recalls, on the one hand, that of a much loved herb: Echium vulgare, Viperina. On the other hand it makes one think of an echo, one that would amplify and return the artistic, poetic and ethnobotanical provocations launched by the three. The multi-handed work Green Symphony was created in 2019: a coordinated series of portraits of plants, observed and interpreted through unusual shades of color. In 2021 the Inenze project was created, which sees the Pantones of the year among the protagonists: 17-5401 Ultimate Gray and 13-4607 Illuminating. It is no coincidence that these colors are very similar to those of the fruits and flowers of numerous publications and consultant for Dandelion, the herb to which the research path was dedicated.

Aldo Damioli

Aldo Damioli's works are fully descriptive canvases, the result of an original work of precision and detail, first of photographic inspiration and then of conceptual clearing of the landscape from confusion and accident. Sumptuous and chilling, Damioli's views question our (common) senses of sight and orientation: a commitment to scenography and editing that produces environmental stills awaiting action and true protagonists. Since 1992 Damioli has worked to consolidate this recognizable and very personal stylistic choice: VeneziaNewYork is now a real brand dedicated to contemporary scenarios: portraits of metropolises halfway between humorous essay and sociological study.

Our Story

Micaela Lago and Gabriele Bava

In the heart of the village of Cannobio, the fifteenth-century building "Casa Pironi" is the setting for Gabriele and Micaela's wine shop, where wine and art come together.

Their expertise in the wine field and their interest in artistic expression, also stimulated by meetings with passionate friends and artists, pushed them to give life to this project: “Emotions take shape in this place: art arouses them, the wine frees them. Heart and reason meet and the rest remains outside. Our passion for wine meets, here, the love of art and the pleasure of hospitality."

Gabriele Bava was born into a family historically involved in the sector; after studying Oenology in Alba, he worked with his father in the family shop, Casa Bava. Due to his outstanding skills in tasting he joined the Grand Jury Européen, becoming one of the fifteen permanent members. The opportunity to get to know the best producers and wines in the world led Gabriele to decide to create his own.

Micaela Lago, a graduate in Literature, was influenced by Gabriele's great passion for wine, obtaining the title of Sommelier. Together they created the LAGOBAVA winery in Vignale Monferrato, a place that contains the root of the word "vine" in its name and the vine branch in the municipal coat of arms.
